ByeBye Lost!

Hmmmmmm. Nope. I’m not very happy. =/lost[1]

Lost was one of my favourite series. Aside from the fact that I’m going to miss it, I also feel that it didn’t quite… well…. finish! And I think the main reasons I feel this way is because the season finale did not do such a fine job of closing the circle. It simply wasn’t enough. I was expecting something much more fascinating! I get the feeling that the story got sooo big, that the producers sort of lost control of the complexity of it and as a result they just cut things off. So many unanswered questions, so much unfinished business!

Also, it seems like a lot of people aren’t quite sure about what happened. For instance, there’s a common confusion about whether the characters of the story were dead the entire time. Nope, they weren’t! Everything that happened actually did happen… The after death “limbo” universe which was introduced in season 6, is the only part of the story line in which they’re dead, as Christian Sheppard clarifies. Also, I’m as much disappointed as everyone else that they didn’t bring back Michael and Walt into the story, but hey, it makes sense! I mean Walt didn’t exactly spend so much time with the team for him to show up in their made up universe, and Kevin… well Kevin would not be able to “move on”. He killed a couple of people, and turned into some sort of a stuck spirit on the island.

And, YES, Hurley could be in the limbo even though he wasn’t dead when the series was finished. Because he would eventually die, right? And there’s no real concept of time in the limbo universe. As you may have noticed he said to Ben “you were a great number 2”. So it could be that they were number 1 and number 2 for thousands of years before they died and went to the limbo. But eventually, they would show up.

I guess what was most disappointing for me about the finale, was that I was hoping for a completely different  ending for the “Man in Black”. I mean come to think of it, when he was alive, he was a much better person than Jacob. He was intelligent, courageous and in fact much more honest and interested in the facts than Jacob. But he was betrayed… by pretty much everyone. Can you blame him for turning into some vengeful spirit thang? Jacob was the real b****d in all of this. Unfair ending for the “Man in Black”…. how reality like!

Anyhow, I think that so many questions about the nature of the island and other things remained unanswered… and as I said, I don’t find limbo a very convincing ending for such an amazing story. I wonder if the series writers might do something like Joss Whedon did with Buffy… continuing the story as comic books. Well, I don’t really think that’s going to happen… but it would be nice to have Lost comics, eh? 😉

“They weren’t you, honey!” =D

From my list of belated movies to watch, last night I finally got to see the latest IndianaIndiana_Jones_-_The_Kingdom_Of_The_Crystal_Skull__XVID___2008_-fanart2[1] Jones movie. And boy oh boy did I enjoy it! =D Having been a huge [and do I mean HUUUGE] fan of Indi for my entire childhood [including now =D], I was worried that this new one was going to not reach up to my expectations and let me down. Well, it did no such thing! I LUUUUUUUVED it!

I really liked the general character reunion, and all the pointers to the past adventures. It was aaaaaaaaaaaaawesome to see “Marion Ravenwood” againe. =D The cute and goofy humour of the movie was great. I also totally loved the plot for this one. I guess it was about time Indi finally met with aliens from other dimensions, right? And of course it had to happen either in Atlantis or Eldorado. I mean do you know of any more appropriate place? 😉

I’m sure glad to see Indi’s son has turned out to be as much of a bad-arse as himself. 😉 That also makes me wonder, is it possible that there are now going to be sequels with new adventures for the son?? I would sort of dig that! =D I suppose my movie-buff friends would probably have an answer for that already…. 😉

P.S.: I suppose I should also mention that last week I finally watched “The Dark Knight”. Seeing how I haven’t posted anything about it, I guess you can tell exactly how impressed [↓] I feel by it. 😉

Me & Caprica

Long story short: It turns out I _DISLIKE_ Caprica just about as much as I _DISLIKE_ BSG. Ahemn. Yeah. =P

Supernatural HaHa…

“6 degrees of heaven bacon” – Dean Winchester

Hahahahaha I found that quote from this week’s Supernatural pretty darn amusing! =D

  • So I just watched Lost season 6 premiere on Space channel, and it was simply mind blowing. =) LOOOOVVVEED IT! As I expected, it caused much more questions than giving any answers… and that’s exactly what we love about Lost, isn’t it? 😉

At the end of season 5, after Ben’s trial, I knew with a 100% certainty that John Locke the new, the smoke monster, and the black dude were all the same. It was very clear given how he manipulated Ben to kill Jacob. But I’m wondering, what the heck is his name? =D And where’s “home” that he wants to go to? And what happens no that Jacob’s dead? And what did Juliet mean by “it worked”? And .. and… and… and… I could go on forever.

But you know what? I also have another really BIG question that I really have to bring up here… Sayid Jarrah is supposed to be Iraqi right? Then can somebody tell me, why on earth he has an IRANIAN PASSPORT????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m half Persian. I was born in Iran. I have an Iranian passport. I know what an Iranian passport looks like. Below is a screenshot of the scene showing Sayid’s passport [thanks to YouTube!], right beside a photo of the first page of my Iranian passport. As you can see, it’s exactly the same. Something tells me that this is not a part of the Lost mystery plot. So I’d say… it’s a rather sad mistake. Iraq and Iran are 2 different countries.. a fact that SOOOO many people seem to not realize.

    Anyhow… aside from the above booboo, I really enjoyed the first episode, and I can’t wait for more…. ah… please… moooorrre…. moooorrrrrrr Lost… MOOOORRRRE… =))))))))))

    New LOST Trailer! <3

Oh my GOD I looooooooooove the new LOST trailer for season 6! It’s ingenious….

Ok… ummm… is it just me imagining things, or did Charlie Francis actually just come back from the dead??? Huh??

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Charlie get killed by a shape-shifter? And wasn’t this shape-shifter later shot by Olivia Dunham, causing her to go through a rough psycho period, which hopefully ended with help of Sam Weiss? So… if all of that isn’t just a fragment of my imagination, then how on earth did Charlie Francis just show up on the 11th episode of season 2, following a case, just like nothing has happened?

In fact this episode looked like a lot of things haven’t happened… I get the feeling that we’re simply not looking at the same universe! There were other inconsistencies in the past too, for instance how Olivia ended up in the middle of a car crash after she came back from the other universe… a crash that had never even started. She parked her car, went to see Nina Sharp, Nina didn’t show up, and then Olivia was led to the elevator to the other universe… there simply never was an accident, so how did she end up in the middle of an accident that never started???

Given all the inconsistencies, I think that we’re seeing events from different universes, like that episode where Olivia was seeing pieces and parts of events from different universes. In any case, something really weird is happening…. and that’s the whole fun about Fringe, isn’t it? =D

I have to say unlike SGU, Fringe is going on strong… very interesting, very very kool. =)  Can’t wait to see what happens next… and how Charlie just reappeared out of thin air….

    SGU? Hmmmmmmm

    sgu_cast

Umm… no. Yeah. I have to start by saying NOOO. Big NOOOO. God, just what are these folks doing? We’re so used to Stargate being this larger than life complex intriguing epic plots, and that’s what we like about it! Now of course there needs to be evolution, there needs to be change… but then there’s “change” and there’s “mess up”. And so far, SGU has been the ladder. None of my big time Stargate fan friends seem to like this one at all up to now.

So far, SGU has only been a bunch of extremely shallow people doing extremely useless things. All the time. What bothers me even more, is that the general plot and the big picture is in fact VERY interesting. People who are not supposed to be doing this, further from home than any human has every been… this could be SOO full of events. But it’s NOT! And I think it’s mainly due to how un-interesting the characters are. So far, I only find 3 of the main character interesting [sometimes!]:
    – Dr. Rush – Cause he uses his brain
    – Eli Wallace – Cause he sometimes uses his brain
    – Camiile Wray – Cause she started drawing the boat

As for the rest of them, I find them completely and utterly vain.

So that’s all I have to say, so far it’s been a big disappointment. The 9th episode is the last one I’ve seen so far, and now they’ve left my favorite character, Dr. Rush, on the surface of some planet and left him there to die…. but he’s alive, and that may go to interesting places. It would be “nice” to see my favorite character turning into the big anti-hero….we’ll just have to wait and see. I really hope things start picking up….

    Stargate Universe & Me!

U2-1219787280So last weekend, finally after months of waiting, I watched the 2 hour premiere of Stargate Universe. I’ve been playing in my head a bit with what I saw… I guess it’s too early to actually have an opinion about the series… but I can say that so far, I totally love the plot, and almost totally hate the characters! =P

Dr. Rush is basically the only character that I actually like so far. But I guess, on the other hand, it’s going to be quite interesting to watch a bunch of people this time around who weren’t actually meant for this, are not necessarily the best of the best, and mostly are just simply not supposed to be there. I suppose there’s going to be some very interesting character development going on for the crew in the new series.

Well, looking impatiently forwards to this weekend for the 2nd episode….
