Time for another ASM2010 favourite! =) I was previously informed that Satori was going to have a new demo for ASM, and I was waiting in anticipation to see it. When finally the demo showed up on the ASM TV stream, me and a bunch of friend, as expected, went “Whooohooohooow…. haaaaaaa….. aaaaaaaa…. woooooooo …. wooooohooooooooowwwwww …. hoooooo ….. waaaaaaaaa….” =D
I’m not going to say anything more. In fact I can’t, even if I want to. It’s completely impossible to describe something like this in words. So if you haven’t had a chance to see this super fantastic awesome demo yet, here it is. Check it out! =)
It’s been yet another silent period due to my extreme lack of time, and what better reason to break this silence than to… well, LETS TALK ASD! =D The new ASD demo by the name “Happiness is Around the Bend” was released yesterday at the Assembly 2010 demo party. And early this morning I got the happy news that the demo has in fact won 1st place! =D YAAAAAAAAAAY!
I’ve been experiencing a bit of a mental struggle over which one of the ASD demos is my favourite, and it’s a tie between Life Force and Happiness. I finally decided to leave it at that. It’s just a tie. I can’t like either one of the 2 more than the other, and that’s just the way it’s going to be. =D Where Life Force made my heart explode out of my chest and brought tears to my eyes, Happiness made me jump around and throw my fists in the air. On one hand I think the 2 demos are too different to be able to make a comparison, on the other hand they’re too connected to make a comparison! It’s like they’re the 2 sides of the same coin… So, watch the new demo and decide for yourself.
Oh, and… ehmmm…. well…. I just have got to say this since Soren mentioned something to me… [fair warning: brash opinionated remark following], in case you’ve been reading Pouet threads… don’t let certain comments about the music bias your opinion. aMUSiC and Leviathan have done an otherworldly beautiful job with the music. Big Kudos to them both. <3 <3 =)
Of course there were a few more demos in ASM this year that really took my breath away. I will post about them next…..
Oh wow, would you look at this? Yesterday I came across the coolest news here in this article. Apparently the first robotic amusement park of Europe is being built in Neuchatel [I’ve actually been there! ;)]. Check out the article for more info.
So you can imagine how excited I was to read about this. I feel like a million box… I’m actually going to be there! =D I now have to go see where I can find more information about this. This is absolutely AWESOME, WOOOOOHOOOOOOOWWW! =D
Yesterday, I turned 27. =) I like the fact that the number has a 7 in it, which has always been lucky for me. 😉 I guess it makes sense, given that this is most probably going to be the year of big changes. As in, _HUGE_Migrating Around The Globe_, sort of changes. Which I’m of course looking forwards to. We had a nice little party with friends, after which we went out to a Greek restaurant where I had one of my favourite dishes: Grilled Octopus. Ok, I know that maybe hard to believe for some, but Octopus really is VERY yummy, and I totally love it. =D I even took a picture for proof. [Yet again!]
I would like to thank all my friends for the very nice birthday wishes, cards, eCards and…. Thanks you so much, it means a whole lot to me. =)
From my list of belated movies to watch, last night I finally got to see the latest Indiana Jones movie. And boy oh boy did I enjoy it! =D Having been a huge [and do I mean HUUUGE] fan of Indi for my entire childhood [including now =D], I was worried that this new one was going to not reach up to my expectations and let me down. Well, it did no such thing! I LUUUUUUUVED it!
I really liked the general character reunion, and all the pointers to the past adventures. It was aaaaaaaaaaaaawesome to see “Marion Ravenwood” againe. =D The cute and goofy humour of the movie was great. I also totally loved the plot for this one. I guess it was about time Indi finally met with aliens from other dimensions, right? And of course it had to happen either in Atlantis or Eldorado. I mean do you know of any more appropriate place? 😉
I’m sure glad to see Indi’s son has turned out to be as much of a bad-arse as himself. 😉 That also makes me wonder, is it possible that there are now going to be sequels with new adventures for the son?? I would sort of dig that! =D I suppose my movie-buff friends would probably have an answer for that already…. 😉
P.S.: I suppose I should also mention that last week I finally watched “The Dark Knight”. Seeing how I haven’t posted anything about it, I guess you can tell exactly how impressed [↓] I feel by it. 😉
I love OpenID. =) I really do… I guess it’s obvious by now. I’ve always been intrigued by the idea, so much so that a couple of years ago I started serving my own OpenID on Aasemoon.com.
Recently I decided it was time Verse supported OpenID, and after a few evenings of playing around with the PHP OpenID libraries, now it pretty much does that. The thing is, I have no idea how well this works. A lot of testing has to be done and I’m certain that there are still tons of bugs… but I guess I’ll perfect it in time. =) Also, you can now use your Verse profile as your OpenID, in other OpenID enabled website. So yes Verse serves OpenIDz too now. =) Or at least as far as my testing of it goes….
Not only do I have a terrible chocolate addiction, but it’s also quite well known to everyone… and who’d know that better than my mom? Here’s what she did recently…. Need I say more? =P
Yes, you may laugh at me all you want… but here’s my latest eBay adventure. =P I incidentally came across possibly one of the last survivors of the floppy disk era, a 9 year old external [USB] Microtech floppy drive that has somehow been sitting in it’s box somewhere waiting.. getting bored… not being used…! =P
Well you see, I still have a load of my old floppy drives in some really nice colours [ 😉 ], containing old games, a heck of a lot of code [yeah like code I wrote when I was 9!], graphics, and all sorts of other odd and even things. And obviously none of my notebooks have a floppy drive. And somehow, I have this nostalgic feeling towards floppy disks / drives… =D Well, lets just say that I really had to have it. 😉 Here it is:
My Microtech floppy drive connected to my notebook.. [and those are the different colours that the lead can have [there’s like 15 or so of them.. =))))] …
