Ok… ummm… is it just me imagining things, or did Charlie Francis actually just come back from the dead??? Huh??
Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Charlie get killed by a shape-shifter? And wasn’t this shape-shifter later shot by Olivia Dunham, causing her to go through a rough psycho period, which hopefully ended with help of Sam Weiss? So… if all of that isn’t just a fragment of my imagination, then how on earth did Charlie Francis just show up on the 11th episode of season 2, following a case, just like nothing has happened?
In fact this episode looked like a lot of things haven’t happened… I get the feeling that we’re simply not looking at the same universe! There were other inconsistencies in the past too, for instance how Olivia ended up in the middle of a car crash after she came back from the other universe… a crash that had never even started. She parked her car, went to see Nina Sharp, Nina didn’t show up, and then Olivia was led to the elevator to the other universe… there simply never was an accident, so how did she end up in the middle of an accident that never started???
Given all the inconsistencies, I think that we’re seeing events from different universes, like that episode where Olivia was seeing pieces and parts of events from different universes. In any case, something really weird is happening…. and that’s the whole fun about Fringe, isn’t it? =D
I have to say unlike SGU, Fringe is going on strong… very interesting, very very kool. =) Can’t wait to see what happens next… and how Charlie just reappeared out of thin air….

I'm glad you said that, I just watched episode 11 and thought I was going mad!! It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few episodes!
OMG that's so true! I was waiting for something to explain his presence but the explanation never came!!!
I see everyone's run into the same one as me! 😀
Hehe I thought I was losing my mind too. So I'm not the only one.
It's NOT a fragment of your imagination! Either that, or we all imagined the same thing. 🙂
Maybe it's not the show at all…maybe it's that little side-trip on KLM the other day. Perhaps it's YOU who have been transported into an alternate universe. You were gassed…
Hahaha… it's soooooooo awesome to see that everyone's thinking the same thing! =D I just checked my stats and this post has had about 513 visitors since last night, all googling the same thing! Is Charlie undead? LOL! =D We're not going crazy…
@ Fishy: Me? In an alternate universe? Oh wow… now that would indeed explain a lot of things! =P
Now for the million dollar question: Is Charlie Francis undead?
😛
Yeah I agree with the alternate universe theory. It just can't be the same place.
Holy goly is this a tease or what? It's so hard to wait now to see the next eipisode(s)!! :p
Agree with all of the above comments! 😀
I just read that "Unearthed" was a 'Lost Episode' from last season and that "Johari Window" continues the story arc where we left off.
Ooooo yeah I just did a search and that seems to be the case. Not the most creative turn out we were all hoping for, but oh well. =P
I didn't know you are watching Fringe. I don't know any close friend here who does even know the series. At first I was attracted to it because I wanted an alternative for x-files and my first impressions weren't very good but later it started evolving into something really interesting. Personally I love watching it even more than lost and anything else 🙂
Haven't watched the last two new episodes yet but after reading your post that would be the first obvious thing I would think too. Oh, I love everything that has to do with parallel universes and that stuff 🙂
@ Optimus: Ooooh but it's so disappointing now to find out it was just a glitch, just a "left over" episode from the previous season. Blah! =P
But other than this little booboo, yeah Fringe is absolutely amazing. Love it, been watching every episode since the beginning… Good to know you enjoy it too. =D
Already in episode 1 there's an inconsistency, when Peter and Agent Jessup Find the shapeshifter in Charlies look and the Nurse dead on the floor. Charlies Body was hidden in the crate, but the nurses body shouldn't have been there after transformation…
Yup, quite right!
I'm happy that this has not gone unnoticed. I also noticed an error from the 1st episode of season 2 (i think). When the shapeshifter jumps from the hospital window, she jumps straight down, the camera then flips to her falling outside and you can clearly see the window at the top of the building has a sloping roof outside the window which means that she would'nt have been able to just drop out the window as she did…. or am i looking into this too much.
I keep spotting the bald man, did anyone else notice him in the background of episode 11?
episode 11 in season 2 was unaired episode in season 1, so it was standalone episode, FOX was simply filling an empty slot
I've got to say, I believe the inconsistencies are just a goof on the producers' parts. If you search, you'll find that the first season was originally supposed to have 22 episodes but was later cut back to 20. I think that episode 11 might have been one that was cut away from season one, or somewhere else in the story, and put back in later for filler. I think it was somehow over-looked. The multi-universe hypothesis just seems like a cheap way to rationalize a mistake in judgement. BUT, I'll overlook any other mistakes because I love this series! <3
Hello everyone, the reason you see charlie francis in the episode entitled unearthed is because this is an episode that was held over from the previous season due to fox cutting the series down from 22 episode to 21 episode. They decided to air this episode in season 2. charlie is still dead, they just hoped noone would make a big deal out of it, or they wanted a big deal who knows
