There are things you can annihilate simply by forgetting about them…..
Something that just came to my mind… certainly neither a new nor an original thought. =) Reminds me of that episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer [insert your jokes here! =P] where this high school girl starts fading [literally, disappearing!] Because she was completely neglected by everyone. Interesting idea…. even though I don’t believe that you can actually make people invisible by forgetting about them [too bad! ;)], but I do believe that there are things in this world that you can literally destroy by forgetting about them. Of course you don’t see it happen.. till you give / receive a reminder and that’s the moment when you know it’s all “gone”.
Anyway…. here’s the track of the day, which I totally luv, through Blip.fm, which I’m starting to like! =)

You couldn’t be more correct girl! So true.
Ah..yes. There are in fact a great many things that you can annihilate by forgetting about them. Ideas, thoughts, feelings, and some other truly valuable entities need a piece of your mind to thrive.
Nicely written Aase, you should post thoughts more often! ^_^
Don’t forget goals, if you don’t pay attention to your goals they die!
Oh the power of neglection can nullify much more than that. It may not turn people invisible, but it can break hearts and cause rifts.
I second Lucian!
And sometimes forgetting is precisely what people purposefully use as a tool for erasing things. So you can say that it’s not always bad to forget. But I prefer dealing with things rather than erasing them. Forgetting is generally not for me.
I know a certain somebody who never forgets! 🙂
@ Soren: Quite right!
@ Seth: “But I prefer dealing with things rather than erasing them. Forgetting is generally not for me.” We certainly share that mentality! =)
@ Lucian: Couldn’t agree more!
Hmmmm. I agree with all of the above. But here’s my favorite part: “Of course you don’t see it happen.. till you give / receive a reminder and that’s the moment when you know it’s all “gone””.
I think I can fully understand this. It’s like an alarm clock that goes off a tad too late. It wakes you up only so that you know you’ve missed the train, but there’s really nothing you can do about it.
Well, how am I doing? 🙂
P.S. – *hi5* for Lali Puna! 🙂
@ René: WOW! =D Dude your ability to pick things up has always been VERY impressive, and your alarm clock analogy is just… completely flawless! Right to the point, thank you very much! =)
Depends on how easy it is for someone to forget. Also, some things always remain in your mind and even if forgotten (not touched) for a long time, someone or something could remind you of them and trigger the thoughts back. A good remedy is to learn to accept (see them under a more positive or alternative view) some things of the past so even if you remember them from times to times, they won’t bother you as much (and so you won’t think about them very frequently too).
But yes an interesting post, I hope you don’t mind of the bigger text analysis.
@ Optimus: Oh I enjoy the text analysis, that’s the whole point! =) And I agree with your points, it’s an interesting way of looking at it.
