Second Demo Display [Report In Progress, Part 6 Posted]

A Simple Way by Vantage was another demo to bring up some controversy. Some very much
liked it, some very much didn’t. Now if you’re one of those who liked it, then we’re on the same page. But if you’re one of those who didn’t, well then I’d like you to enlighten me a bit: What was it about this demo that you didn’t like? I do remember some guys saying that they were bored. But that’s as much as I could gather. The positive side seemed to have a lot to say though. This demos is….well….simple as the name depicts. An easy going /relaxing design with calming colors, put together with a fantastic sound track and some interesting lyrics, “demonstrating” the concept of beauty within simplicity. So explain to me, why did some of you look like you wanted to shoot me for being a bit 
Vantified? 😛

I guess you could say that my fellow Elec Engeez got quite a treat this time around, given that there were at least 3 demos related to their field in this show. The very directly related one was Electric Kool-Aid by Synesthetics. The whole demo is displayed through an oscilloscope tube, what else could we possibly ask for? huh? But this electrifying demo didn’t just make the EE posse happy, it actually managed to make everyone happy! The super cool design and general atmosphere of this demo was exciting for the whole crowd. It seems like there are not many Synesthetics demos out there, well I hope that we’ll see more from these guys in the future.
Update: Guys I don’t have the soundtrack for “A Simple Way” in s seperate file. If it’s out there, I’m yet to find it. If you find it, I want it too!

Ok people confess it right now! I wasn’t there for the display since I live in the UK, but I’ve seen “A Simple Way” and hey it does rule!

Well I don’t have it, and I really do want it too. It doesn’t come with the demo. I gotta see if I can get a hold of it elsewhere.

The synesthetics demo was definitely super. The whole tube this was kick ass. The vantage demo was also great, is the music available separately?
Oh man I loved the cool aid too! Graphics and music and atmosphere and everything. “A simple way” was kind of cute too. I want the sound track too if you have it.
Vantage rules. I remember seeing a couple of other demos from them on your notebook too, great stuff.

Ok the vantage demo was boring as hell! I don’t know what you guys see in this demo. But the music was actually good though.
And the electrical thing ruled.

I think the only part of the “simple way” that I liked was the part in your 2nd screenshot. I also liked the music. I’m also a pretty big fan of the “electric kool-aid”. But that didn’t have much of a music anyway.
Yeah if electric kool aid had a better music it could be perfect!
I really have to second the anonymous guy above. If I didn’t like the Vantage demo before, I certainly do now. Has anyone ever told you that you really really can write? You could easily become a journalist!

A simple way actually was somewhat boring. The color was nice, but it was the same through the whole thing! There were some nice design elements though, and the music was good too.
As for Aasemoon, she rocks @ EE, she’s not going anywhere! 😛

Yeah actually I was gonna say that, if A Simple Way didn’t have that section with that …uummm…. spinning odd-shaped semi-square thingie (inside the sphere, if anyone knows what I’m talking about and can describe it better, please go ahead!)it would have been better. That was the only boring part.

I totally digg the way it starts,
I like the music,
I like most of the gfx,
But those semi-goth drawings are just soooooooooooo not my cup of tea.
Well it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of those in the rest of the Vantage demos anyway.
Yeah everything else about that demo is cool. But that guy with tha..ahh…”face” … aaa… freaked me out!
Ok if these guys don’t make some new demos, pretty soon we’re gonna run out of Vantage demos to discuss. 😛
